Shawnda Jennings is a Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM), Peer Support Specialist (PSS), and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor Registered (CADC-R) with more than five years of experience in reentry services, recovery support, community outreach, and housing stabilization. She is passionate about helping individuals overcome barriers, reconnect with their communities, and build healthy, productive lives.
Throughout her career, Shawnda has worked extensively with justice-involved individuals, facilitating reentry programming and recovery-focused services both within the Deschutes County Jail and throughout Central Oregon. Her experience includes developing community partnerships, connecting individuals to treatment and recovery resources, assisting with housing and employment navigation, and advocating for people facing complex challenges related to substance use, mental health, and reintegration.
As a Reentry Navigator with New Priorities Family Services, Shawnda utilizes a person-centered, strengths-based approach that empowers individuals to identify their goals and create sustainable paths forward. Her work is guided by the belief that recovery and positive change are possible for everyone when they are met with support, opportunity, and respect.
Drawing from both professional training and lived experience, Shawnda brings authenticity, compassion, and resilience to her work. She is dedicated to reducing stigma, strengthening community connections, and helping individuals and families achieve long-term success. Through her commitment to service and advocacy, she continues to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those she serves and in the broader Central Oregon community.
