Larry D. Kennedy is a second generation Bend-ite born May 14, 1969 right here in good ole’ Bend Oregon. He is the youngest of 4 with 2 brothers and 1 sister. His father was born here in Bend on February 2, 1924. Larry graduated from Bend Sr. High School in June of 1989. He played around a lot in middle school so he was held back in case you were wondering why he graduated 20 years after he was born. His journey with substance use began after having gastric bypass surgery when his food addiction transformed into alcohol addiction in 2009. Alcohol got it’s grip on him very quickly and firmly and he wasn’t able to shake it off until April of 2020. Now he is 4 years sober and has discovered a new passion that helps him continue to win his everlasting struggle with alcohol. He became a house manager and Certified Recovery Mentor for former Turning Points Recovery Services.
Currently he holds two jobs, CRM/House Manager and Mobile Expert for T-Mobile. His hopes are to eventually work full time as a CRM and end his 26 year run in retail work. His passion for working with SUD and ICD clients was unexpected. Now he cannot imagine, not being a CRM/House Manager, He loves it!!!!
