QMHP

Robert Hershey is a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) who is finishing a Masters in Counseling program through Concordia University Irvine. His previous experience includes working in non-profit religious organizations with a community-based approach that served families and individuals going through hardships and difficult life scenarios.

Robert began as a student intern with New Priorities Family Services and has accepted a
full-time position as a Mental Health Counselor. He prioritizes a supportive therapeutic
relationship between himself and his clients that facilitates warm acceptance, genuineness, and mutual collaboration. Robert has been trained in multidisciplinary approaches for mental health treatment and is preferable towards Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

“I provide mental health treatment for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, suicide ideation, addiction, impulsive behaviors, personality deficits, and other mental health challenges. I am passionate towards a client-based approach, providing trauma-informed care, and facilitating an empathic therapeutic relationship.”

Robert spends his weekends on family adventures with his wife and 3 children. You may expect to run into him on the local trails, shopping at Costco, or visiting the Oregon coast.
